She is Beautiful When She is Mad

Is part of a year-long artful effort responding to a spirit-led research & un-learning project focused on the intersection of gender, indigenous culture pre-contact, and on-going colonial genocide… and how these purposely hidden histories inform our everyday/current relationship to the land with live on, womb-holding bodies, and US policy-making.

This work aims to un-binary our minds, hearts, and bodies in order to tell new stories that empower caring for the earth and self as one.

Available for tour in 2023, this show includes:

  • 7+ ironing board medicine shield alter sculptures and/or

  • several 11 x 11” & larger framed collages - that also have online animated versions/poems

    …All encouraging witnesses to interact with and add to the installation by finishing the sentence “She is beautiful when she is _____.”
